Green Masters Program
Johnson Controls achieves top sustainability designation
Johnson Controls is one of a select group of companies to earn the designation Green Master, the highest tier in the Green Masters Program established by the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. As a Green Master, Johnson Controls has performed actions in each of nine sustainability areas and has scored in the top twenty percent of all participating companies.
“We are proud to welcome Johnson Controls into the Green Masters program for the first time,” said Tom Eggert, executive director, Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. “They have exemplified leadership in sustainable business practices within Wisconsin and have earned high scores across the board. We are proud to recognize them as a Green Master participant.”
“We are honored to receive this recognition from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council for our commitment to sustainability in our home state of Wisconsin,” said Stephen A. Roell, chairman and chief executive officer of Johnson Controls. “Throughout our 127-year history, our employees have embraced and practiced social and environmental responsibility in Wisconsin and around the globe.”
Applicants to the Green Masters Program are judged on a comprehensive range of sustainability issues, from energy to water use to educational outreach and governance. More than 125 Wisconsin businesses are participating in the program where the top twenty percent achieve the highest “Green Master” designation.
