Johnson Controls recognized for leadership in military employment; commits to hiring more veterans, and spouses in the future
Nearly 200,000 veterans transition annually from the military to the workforce. This diverse group of talent has extensive leadership training, experience working in teams, flexibility and a sense of loyalty, making military veterans highly sought-after employees for Johnson Controls.
“Military veterans bring a level of leadership experience that is very valuable to Johnson Controls,” said Ray Cuttino, lead recruiter in Building Efficiency and a retired Army veteran. “We bring a strong work ethic, identifiable, transferable skills, proven in real world situations. We understand the importance of staying with the task until the job is done. We know how to evaluate situations and prioritize issues.”
Leadership in military recruitment
A continued commitment to hiring and retaining veterans has earned Johnson Controls recognition for military employment. Johnson Controls was recently named a Top Military Friendly Employer by G.I. Jobs for the eighth consecutive year. This list is a valuable tool for military personnel transitioning into the workforce, as the rankings incorporate recruiting and retention efforts, and special programs for veterans in the workplace. Johnson Controls is proud to rank seventh on this list, which in total represents only 2 percent of 5,000 qualifying companies, and first on the industrial products and services index.
There are approximately 1.1 million identified military spouses in the U.S., another powerful group of potential talent for Johnson Controls. Military Spouse named Johnson Controls to its Top 20 Military Spouse Friendly Employers of 2012.
Continuing our commitment

As of March 31, more than 12,100 veterans have been hired by coalition companies. This continued emphasis on recruiting, hiring, and training veterans will undoubtedly strengthen our workforce in the coming years.
