Leadership Expectations Model (LEM)
Our Leader Expectations Model (LEM) defines the behaviors that are expected of all Johnson Controls employees in support of our vision, Values and company goals. In 2009, we expanded the LEM into key business and people processes. It is now used in recruiting and interviewing job candidates, employee development programs and skill-building for supervisors. In addition, a training program to support behavioral assessment, based on the LEM, was implemented worldwide.
Learning Resources
Our Learning Management System provides a global, electronic system to a full array of learning courses for employees around the world. Other training programs are provided in safety, quality and continuous improvement, leader effectiveness, integrity and certification programs.
eXtreme Learning Program
The eXtreme Learning Program fosters the development of senior-level, high-potential talent across the company. The program addresses complex business issues to give participants real-world experience to better serve our customers. Since 2004, more than 250 leaders have participated in the program. Nearly two-thirds of participants have been promoted to expanded leadership roles within the company.
Leadership Edge
The Leadership Edge program provides an action learning experience for mid-career managers. The program is focused on several geographies outside of the United States. In 2009, the program begin in China. Since its inception, the program has graduated more than 350 employees employees from Europe, Mexico and China.
