Johnson Controls Receives Award for Diversity

Johnson Controls Automotive Experience received the 2010 Toyota Supplier Diversity Award

Toyota Supplier Diversity Award is handed over to Johnson Controls

On March 15, 2011, Toyota honored its best suppliers in North America for their 2010 achievements during its Annual Supplier Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony in Covington, Kentucky. The awards acknowledge those suppliers who have exceeded Toyota's expectations in quality performance, supplier diversity, value improvement and launch performance for parts and materials. Approximately 900 attendees from North American suppliers met to hear Toyota’s business objectives for its upcoming fiscal year that begins April 1, and for recognition of outstanding performance among the firm’s supply base.
At the event, Johnson Controls gained a Superior Award in the Supplier Diversity category. Superior Awards are presented by Toyota to suppliers that demonstrate exceptional performance. These awards in the area of Supplier Diversity recognized supply companies who implement supplier diversity activities and targets.

In addition, Johnson Controls’ Georgetown, Kentucky seating plant and its JCIM joint venture’s interiors Owensboro, Kentucky interiors plant each were recognized with a Certificate of Achievements in Quality. These honors were given for achieving Toyota’s quality targets during 2010.

Johnson Controls was one of just five suppliers to receive Superior Awards from Toyota this year, and the only supplier to receive one in the Supplier Diversity category. The company has been honored by Toyota with Superior Awards in Supplier Diversity for the past eight years.
