Johnson Controls has developed an environmentally friendly substrate material with wood or bast (kenaf, hemp, flax etc.) fiber appearance and lightweight characteristics. With this innovative concept, a unique eco-fashion vehicle interior can be created by using a natural fiber carrier material as structural, visible surface material.

This eco-friendly material based on wood fibers is used for the instrument panel and door panels of the Johnson Controls re3 interior demonstrator.
