Shanghai Technology Center

Shanghai is known as an open city on the coast, a famous historical and cultural city, a gate to the Yangtze river delta. It is the largest economic and trade center in China with a comprehensive industry base and a leading port.

The Shanghai Technology Center is separated into seating and interiors development in two different locations:

Seating - Shanghai Yanfeng Johnson Controls

Shanghai YFJC

The Shanghai Yanfeng Johnson Controls (YFJC) Technology Center was established in 1998 and has moved to the new main building in 2008. It is located in Pudong New Area of Shanghai, lying between Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport.

More than 350 employees work in the 141,000 square feet main building, 17,000 square feet Mini JIT plant and the 17,000 square feet Test Lab (which is going to be enlarged to 43,000 square feet in 2010). The Technology Center houses innovation, advanced engineering, product development, industrial design, benchmarking, comfort lab, prototyping and full testing capabilities. It owns strong research and development capabilities with a solid product platform and portfolio including complete seat assembly, mechanisms, foam, trim cover and headrests. In addition many central functions are based here, such as marketing, costing and program management.

Interiors - Jixiang Automobile Roof Trimming

Shanghai JARC

The Jixiang Automobile Roof Trimming (JARC) Technology Center is operating in headliner, visor and overhead system development. It is located in Pudong KangQiao Industry Zone of Shanghai, lying between Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport.

The Technology Center has 28 employees. It owns strong research and development capabilities such as innovation, advanced engineering, product development, benchmarking, prototyping and full testing capabilities, incl. a more than 600 square meter test lab with certification of SGM, SVW and Volvo. In addition many central functions are based here, such as marketing, costing and program management.
