“This functional area involves the engineering effort required to prepare and assure that the detailed technical data documentation that is necessary to support system development reflects the latest design, configuration, integration, and installation concepts. Technical documentation may be in the form of paper, electronic (digital) or interactive computer systems.”

Directly relevant experience in system design documentation and technical data packages has been demonstrated by Johnson Controls in support of the Federal Aviation Administration at over 600 dispersed locations around the US featuring security management for access control, CCTV, video recording, perimeter monitoring and client specified security subsystems. These systems, deploying the CardKey Security management system with Pelco integrated video systems. Similar design and technical data packages support projects at over a dozen other nationwide accounts including JC Penney, Clorox, Schering-Plough, Glaxo/Smith/Kline, Verizon, Pfizer and at several large airports including Seattle/Tacoma, Ottawa, Toronto, Bradley/Springfield, Sarasota, Honolulu International and Logan (Boston).

Johnson Controls has developed numerous IDPs in support of DoD and civilian agency electronic security systems installations. All comply with SSCC drafting and CAD standards. Drawings are produced using AutoCAD for all USMC projects and in Micro Station for selected civilian federal agencies consistent with their engineering configuration programs. The IDPs consist of the appropriate drawings (e.g., block diagrams, equipment and device locations, typical equipment/location configurations, riser diagrams, equipment interconnect and wiring drawings, conduit and cable routing plans, etc.), system/equipment specifications and bills of materials, test procedures and training documentation. All are designed to provide local Johnson Controls and subcontractor personnel the information and detailed installation and testing approach to correctly and efficiently perform the required task order project work. Upon completion, each version-controlled IDP and technical data package is updated to reflect as-built conditions.

Directly relevant projects to this discipline area have been performed at NAS Anacostia, MCB Quantico, MCB Camp Pendleton and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Both AutoCAD and Micro Station are supported in each all of our geographical Regional offices. Classified documents are generated and stored in our Gaithersburg, MD or Huntsville, AL office under a compliant facility certified by ODAA

Johnson Controls is a primary contractor to the Huntsville Division of the US Army Corps of Engineers for Electronic Security Systems and Utility Management and Control Systems. These programs include comprehensive security-system assessment, design, engineering, installation, and sustainment services. A key feature is the ability of the Johnson Controls to deploy regional and local teams of engineers and technicians across the USA and OCONUS sites through a centrally managed program office. All work is supported by comprehensive design documentation and technical data packages. Over 300 security system related projects have been performed over the last ten years.
