Christoph Vogel to lead Johnson Controls, Global WorkPlace Solutions, Life Sciences market

Christoph Vogel, Global Vice President and General Manager of the Life Sciences Market

Johnson Controls, Global WorkPlace Solutions (GWS) has appointed Christoph Vogel as Global Vice President and General Manager of the Life Sciences market.

Christoph joins GWS from the Energy Solutions business with Johnson Controls, Building Efficiency where he was Vice President and General Manager, Solar Energy Solutions. He replaces John Summers who is taking a new role at Johnson Controls Building Efficiency as Vice President of Systems and Service in North America.

As an expert in solar and photovoltaic issues, with more than 15 years of experience, Christoph was responsible for leading a team in the development of solar energy projects, especially in the education, municipal and federal government markets.

Prior to joining Johnson Controls, he was Vice President and Business Unit Head at Siemens, working in a variety of roles spanning 15 years, including strategic planning, management consulting, controls and building technologies in Europe and the US. He also served as a principal with The Boston Consulting Group.

His areas of expertise include Business Strategy, Operations, Cleantech, Performance Contracting, Building Technologies and Industrial Manufacturing.


Christoph was a David Rockefeller fellow for the Partnership of New York City and has presented at multiple conferences and written numerous articles.

He has gained strong global experience by working in multiple industries on strategy, sales and operations across the globe and is fluent in German and English, as well as proficient in French and Spanish.

Christoph has a Master's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Christoph is based in Milwaukee, WI.
