Humana selects Johnson Controls for facility management services
Johnson Controls Global WorkPlace Solutions (GWS) has been selected to provide facility management services to Humana Inc., one of the largest publicly traded health and supplemental benefits companies in the US.
The GWS team will oversee the day-to-day facility management needs of 480 office facilities and medical centers clustered across four states - Kentucky, Wisconsin, Arizona, and South Florida. In total, GWS will manage more than seven million square feet of office facilities and medical centers across the country.
The team will centralize facility maintenance services to help reduce Humana’s operations and maintenance costs while increasing efficiencies. Services in the five-year contract include the installation of computerized maintenance management systems, which will streamline the maintenance process at all facilities to allow staff to make more informed decisions.
“As we looked to partners to help us streamline operations, Johnson Controls Global WorkPlace Solutions became an ideal fit,” said Brent Densford, Director of Humana's Workplace Solutions. “The company’s depth of experience and overall resources they would bring to our operations were key factors in selecting them as a vendor.”
The GWS team will help Humana enhance its strategic energy and environmental sustainability plan. Specific focuses within the contract include operations and maintenance management, facility management call center support, and small projects services support.
“This partnership reinforces Humana’s commitment to intelligent portfolio management.” said Steve Quick, vice president and general manager, financial market, Global WorkPlace Solutions, Johnson Controls.
