Liquid Recirculator Packages
Vertical (VRP) and Horizontal (HRP)
The Frick® mechanical pump liquid recirculator provides low temperature pressurized liquid to the evaporators on a refrigeration system. It separates the returning refrigerant liquid and vapor mixture and acts as a reservoir for the liquid supply to the mechanical pumps.
- The Frick® pressure vessel is designed and rated for the specified refrigerant and operating conditions
- All nozzle connections and package piping are sized according to industry standards based on the refrigerant and specified operating conditions
- The recirculator vessel and components are abrasively cleaned prior to assembly assuring a clean interior and maximum adhesion of the exterior paint system.
- The package piping is pressure tested to assure the integrity of all welds. It is vacuum dehydrated and charged with a 15 psi nitrogen charge minimizing the potential for internal corrosion.
- Packages intended for use with ammonia are supplied with an oil pot to separate out any entrained oil.
- Packages are provided with a pair of liquid pumps selected for the specified operating requirements. One pump to operate, the other a complete stand-by.
- Each pump is provided with isolation valves and a hydrostatic safety relief permitting the service of either pump while the other remains in operation.
- The Frick® package may be provided with factory installed pump starters and the Frick® Recirc-Q-Lator controls. These controls provide reliable operation and can be tied into the local Ethernet or Frick® ECS controls system.
- Frick® Recirculator Packages: (VRP / HRP) factory-assembled, complete packages designed for maximum capacity and surge volume. Packages consist of a recirculator vessel, dual refrigerant pumps (one a standby), a liquid level control system with a control panel, and a horizontal oil pot. All mounted and piped on a single structural base. Designed, constructed, and tested in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 15. Thoroughly evacuated and charged with dry nitrogen to ensure the integrity of the unit during shipping and short term storage prior to installation.
- Recirculator Vessel: Designed and constructed per ASME, Section VIII (latest addenda) and National Board Registered. Ammonia vessel is rated at 250 # DWP and provided with a 250 # dual relief valve assembly (shipped loose). Alternate design pressure ratings are available.
- Oil Pot: Provided on ammonia packages only. Vessel designed and constructed per ASME, Section VIII (latest addenda) and National Board Registered. Vessel rated at 300 # DWP and provided with a 250 # single relief valve. Isolation valves provided with a spring return oil drain valve.
- Pumps: Standard liquid pumps are Teikoku hermetic or Cornell open drive. Dual pumps are standard; one pump is standby. Cornell pumps are close-coupled with the motors. Electrical power is 460-60-3 as standard. Packaging includes: discharge check valves, vent valves, bypass valve, and isolation valves. Other pumps and voltages available upon request.
- Liquid Level Control System: A 3" diameter level column (flanged) with 3 level eyes, a flanged high-level float switch and column drain valve are all standard.
- Electrical Power and Control: Options include: 1) Danfoss level controller with level probe, 2) Frick® Recirc-Q-Lator package controller (capable of controlling up to three recirculator packages), 3) Factory mounted and wired starter and control power panel.
