It’s a classic vicious cycle: About 40% of our water consumption is for cooling power plants as they generate electricity, yet 40% of electricity use is to produce, pump and clean water. As the world’s population increases by as much as 70 million over the next 25 years, electricity demand is expected to increase by 50%. That means less water for human consumption and more carbon emitted in the atmosphere. As solar changes the way we produce energy, it helps us preserve our natural resources and the future of our planet.

5. Solar Changes the Way We Think and Act.
Here’s a more positive cycle: The more solar technologies are used, the more cost effective and advanced they become, which in turn makes their use increase dramatically. Installing solar systems in schools is encouraging an entire generation of kids to think in terms of using solar energy to heat water, and power lights and computers. Soon renewable energy technologies will become the norm when engineering a new building or planning a renovation.
