Q: How can I use the Utility Monitoring and Control Systems (UMCS) Contract to obligate year-end funds?A: The UMCS Contract can be used for a broad range of projects including: utility monitoring and building automation systems, HVAC equipment retrofit projects, energy management, SCADA systems, systems integration, and renewable energy systems to streamline and simplify efforts for your facility upgrades. This contract provides a contracting mechanism to design, price and implement your year-end projects up to the end of the fiscal year. Q: How can I use the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Contract to obligate funds?
A: The ESS contract provides solutions for access control and alarm monitoring, metal and weapons detection, turnstiles, gates, and portals, operational command and control centers and more. Like the UMCS contract, the ESS contract enables a simple solution to complex procurements.
Q: Who can use the UMCS and ESS contracting vehicles?
A: Any federal agency around the world can use the UMCS and ESS contracting vehicles. This includes Non-DOD and OCONUS sites.
Q: Can the UMCS and ESS contracts ONLY be used for year-end projects?
A: No. The UMCS and ESS contracts are fast, simple, and can be used for any project at any time during the fiscal year.
Q: Can I combine projects?
A: Yes, the task order can include multiple buildings as well as multiple technologies within each building as long as the site scope of work fits within the designated technologies and services listed the UMCS and ESS contract. The list of allowable scope is extensive and covers many technologies tied to energy reduction and building improvements.
