Strengthening public policy

Responsible and effective government relations are a priority for us. Because we have frequent contact with regulators, legislators and other government officials, we are focused on strengthening public policy in support of the business needs of the company and for other stakeholders including employees, stockholders and the communities where we operate.

Our interests are reflected in a broad array of policy issues, including energy efficiency, sustainability, environmental regulations, automotive safety and efficiency standards, and building standards and codes.

U.S. Government Relations Organization

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Government Relations team works with Congress, the White House and federal regulators on matters of national public policy. They are focused on advancing business goals for Johnson Controls, on the interests of the company’s employees and stockholders, and on issues important to customers and other stakeholders, including energy efficiency and renewable energy.

European Government Relations Organization

Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, the European Government Relations team works with the European Union and national decision-makers and stakeholders. They are focused on helping the European Union achieve policy goals including those related to climate change mitigation, emissions reduction, clean transportation, and innovation.
