Recently, China Refrigeration 2016 ended successfully in Beijing. China Refrigeration focusing on “ozone climate technology” has held Ozone Climate Industry Roundtable Conferences and Technology Roadshows for five consecutive years. Johnson Controls, a leading one-stop building solution provider around the world, attended Ozone Climate Roadshow with YVAG DC inverted frequency air cooled chiller (heat pump) unit, shared its years of experience in reducing chiller carbon emission at the Ozone Climate Industry Roundtable Conference, and communicated with present experts through production display, thus assisting with the development of ozone climate technology.
HCFCs – a Slow Killer of Ozone Layer Is to Be Scraped
HCFC, a potent greenhouse gas, is one of the major substances that deplete ozone layer. As the largest HCFCs producer, user and exporter in the world, China has unswervingly complied with Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, and positively boosted plans for scraping HCFCs for over 20 years. By the end of 2015, 58,000t HCFCs were scraped and the goal of scraping HCFCs at the first stage was achieved.

As the strategy for scraping HCFCs industry of Chinese industrial and commercial refrigeration air-conditioning industry at the second stage has been formulated, UNEP, FECO, and CRAA join hands to hold the 5th Ozone Climate Industry Roundtable Conference and Roadshow during China Refrigeration 2016, in order to facilitate the utilization of ozone and climate-friendly alternative technology and rapidly scrap HCFCs. Johnson Controls attended the technology roadshow with YVAG DC inverted frequency air cooled chiller (heat pump) unit, shared its experience in reducing chiller carbon emission at the Ozone Climate Industry Roundtable Conference, focusing on “ozone climate technology” to assist China in scraping HCFCs.
Technology Roadshow: Johnson Controls will spare no effort to apply environmental-friendly refrigerant
Though Chinese enterprises have put into numerous manpower and financial resources to scrap HCFCs, it is still a common occurrence that HCFCs are used in water chiller unit field. As a practitioner and pioneer of global sustainable development, Johnson Controls has always devoted itself to applying environmental protection refrigerant to create more environmental-friendly products.
YVAG DC inverted frequency air cooled chiller (heat pump) unit presented in the Ozone Climate Technology Roadshow can represent the diversified environmental-friendly products of Johnson Controls. With optimized design, YVAG adopts R32 refrigerant, of which ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) value is 0 and GWP (Global Warming Potential) value is lowered to 675. Besides, following a safe, reliable, high-efficient, sustainable as well as economical and prevalent principle to select refrigerant, Johnson Controls manufactured YGWS series, a water-cooled screw chiller unite customized for light commercial building and adopting noncombustible environmental protection refrigerant HFC134a, the service life of which is not stipulated in Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
Roundtable Conference: Johnson Controls proposed stratagems for discussion on ozone climate-friendly technology
As a highlight for China Refrigeration, the Ozone Climate Industry Roundtable Conference also attracted attentions from representatives and experts from Ministry of Environmental Protection of the PRC, industry associations in various countries and well-known enterprises of global refrigeration air conditioner industry. Mr. Brian S. Smith, Global Marketing Director for Water Chilling Unit Solution of Construction Facility Efficiency Business of Johnson Controls, has been invited to deliver a keynote speech themed by “Evaluation and Optimization of Minimized Carbon Emission of Water Chiller Unit”, sharing Johnson Controls’ opinions on refrigerant alternative and carbon emission of water chiller unit.
