Future Flexibility and Patient-Focused Environments
The future of healthcare, from ASHE PDC in Orlando
Information is everything in healthcare engineering
Patient experience comes first.

The future of healthcare is focused on creating the safe, healing environments patients require for exceptional care – and the technology that enables those healing environments to exist in the first place.

At the Johnson Controls booth, our healthcare building experts met with facility managers, design and construction teams to discuss designing a better experience through:

  • The power and value of the newly merged Johnson Controls and Tyco brands.
  • Integrated technologies to improve patient experience and hospital outcomes.
  • Cybersecurity challenges and the enhanced features of the newly released Metasys® 8.1.
The next generation of healthcare design and construction professionals.

McCarthy sponsored the 2017 AIA Academy of Architecture for Health Planning Design and Construction Student Challenge at the ASHE PDC Summit in Orlando, where students from across the country brought innovative ideas for the future of healthcare planning design. Akshay Sangolli, Committee Chair of AIA/AAH PDC Student Challenge, explained why the event is valuable to students and the healthcare design industry:

“The PDC Student Challenge is a terrific opportunity for holistic learning. It engages students, faculty and professionals in a manner that stimulates critical inquiry, creative ideas and multi-disciplinary interaction. One year at a time, it is structuring the ‘healthcare design’ industry for a better future.”

Create facilities that are smarter and even more efficient.

During an ASHE-moderated session, Renee Jacobs, an Enterprise Account Executive, discussed the value of ASHE’s Energy to Care program sponsored by Johnson Controls.

Through the program:

  • Participating healthcare facilities use a dashboard to record and track energy-saving measures, and find the best ways to save energy and implement optimizations.
  • Through the Energy Champion Reward - hospitals and facility managers are recognized  for their proven leadership in energy efficiency.
  • The Energy to Care Toolkit is a great resource for support, video tutorials and examples of performance improvement measures. These tools help you make the right decisions, create business cases and secure support from the C-suite.
