Women in STEM

We are committed to hiring the best talent, no matter what phase of life and career. We have opportunities for women in STEM fields starting their careers or embarking on the next chapter of life after break from the workforce.

In 2016, Johnson Controls launched several initiatives aimed at increasing representation, development, inclusion, and advancement of women in STEM roles within the company and industry.

One initiative to drive change and inspire action in the building technology and solutions industry is our sponsorship of events at the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigerating (AHR) Expo in Las Vegas, NV in 2017.  This includes a “Women in ASHRAE” breakfast and four inspiring talks at the event.

Next Chapter

You’re smart.  You’re driven.

You’re ready to step back in and translate ideas into action.

At Johnson Controls, we want to help you re-enter the workforce and apply your analytical and engineering skills in ways that advance your talents, passion and ambition.

Through Next Chapter, Johnson Controls’ Society of Women Engineers iRelaunch program, we partner with women who have been out of the workforce two or more years and hold core skill sets in engineering, science and technology disciplines. See our stories. Then join us.

What is Next Chapter?

Women who are selected for the Next Chapter program receive an 8 - 12-week “experienced internship” placement, which is customized to each individual. In addition to serving as part of a project team, participants receive training to close any knowledge gaps, are exposed to networking opportunities and receive a dedicated coach/mentor. Full-time employment is offered upon successful completion of the internship.

At Johnson Controls, we’ve always been about finding a better way, creating more efficient processes and taking performance to the next level.  This is driven by bringing together smart, inspired employees and supporting their progress.
