Johnson Controls creates community partnerships through the Johnson Controls Foundation, sponsorships, and employee volunteer engagement and support in the global communities where we live and work.


Community involvement is a commitment at Johnson Controls. The company and its employees have created a variety of partnerships with nonprofits in the communities where we’re located.

Johnson Controls supports diverse communities with varied interests and goals. Our impact is demonstrated in a variety of ways, from employee volunteerism to foundation contributions, sponsorships and individual and corporate giving.

Operating support for health and social service programs is provided through multiple local United Way employee workplace campaigns in the U.S., with employee contributions matched by the Foundation. The Foundation also supports educational and performing arts organizations in the U.S. by matching employee donations to qualified nonprofits.
 

Conservation Leadership Corps

With programs rolled out in three U.S. cities, Johnson Controls is investing about $1 million annually in a program focused on providing meaningful and paid conservation and environmental summer work experiences for diverse city teens. The company initiated the Conservation Leadership Corps in Milwaukee in 2006, and has since expanded the program to city high school students in Detroit and Baltimore. Management support is provided by the Student Conservation Association. Among 2007 participants, 93 percent successfully finished the seven-week program, completing vital conservation projects to preserve public lands and improve access to parks. Past program graduates have reported that the opportunity gave them specific job skills and experience that was important in securing other jobs.
