The Community Involvement Program supports employee volunteer activities at our largest U.S. locations, while local employee volunteer initiatives elsewhere reflect the Johnson Controls commitment to be a partner in all the communities where we live and work.

We encourage employees around the world to make community involvement a regular habit, for both personal and professional development. Our Leader Expectations Model requires community involvement as a personal development tool for current and prospective leaders in the company.

The Johnson Controls Community Involvement Program is a dedicated, collaborative effort at our largest U.S. locations. It provides structure to support a diverse group of employees who dedicate thousands of hours of volunteerism to strengthen our headquarters’ communities. Whether serving as board members or in other leadership positions for community nonprofits, recruiting volunteers as project leaders, or pitching in to help a project succeed, Johnson Controls employees are making a difference where it matters.

Blue Sky Involve

The company’s Blue Sky Involve program engages employees around the world in local community and nonprofit organizations, bringing together employee volunteers and worthwhile local initiatives. In 2007, more than 7,500 employees at 300 locations around the world volunteered more than 70,000 hours on Blue Sky projects in their communities.

When the level of local employee involvement and the goals of the local organization are a fit with our Blue Sky Involve objectives, the Johnson Controls Foundation can approve a $1000 (US) grant to the organization.
