21st Annual U.S. Energy Efficiency Forum June 15-16, 2010 at the National Press Club, Washington, D.C.

The 21st annual U.S. Energy Efficiency Forum, sponsored by Johnson Controls and the U.S. Energy Association, will bring together energy experts, policy makers, and business leaders to explore the role of energy efficiency in addressing the world's economic and environmental needs.

The event takes place June 15 and 16, 2010 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. 

This year's theme is: "Energy Efficiency: Innovative Approaches, Proven Solutions." Featured speakers and panelists will examine solutions for reducing energy usage, costs and greenhouse gas emissions from buildings, vehicles and industrial activities, as well as new ideas in financing energy efficiency projects. 

Featured speakers include:
  • U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke, an advocate of clean energy and energy efficiency, and the leader of clean energy business missions to China and Indonesia.
  • Congressman Steve Israel from New York's 2nd Congressional district, a leader on enhancing U.S. energy security and lowering energy costs.
  • Robert Cialdioni, Ph.D, chief scientist at OPOWER, an energy efficiency and Smart Grid software company that helps utility companies and customers meet energy efficiency goals.
  • Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, who is establishing an alternative energy sector in Michigan to create high demand jobs and reduce dependence on foreign oil.
  • Jon Wellinghoff, Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, a proponent of advanced technologies and system integration to make the energy infrastructure more efficient.

 The forum will also feature two panel discussions:

  • "Taking Charge of the Clean Transportation Industry," moderated by Mary Ann Wright, Vice President Global Technology and Innovation Accelerator for Johnson Controls Power Solutions
  • "Innovative Solutions at the Intersection of Technology and Efficiency," moderated by Stephen Stokes, Vice President of Research for AMR Research, Inc.
