Johnson Controls United Way campaign totals $7.9 million nationwide

Across the United States, Johnson Controls and our employees participated generously in their local United Way campaigns, raising more than $7.9 million.

“We appreciate all of our employees who participated in this year’s campaign,” said Chairman and CEO Steve Roell. “Johnson Controls is committed to supporting those communities where our employees live and work, and our national United Way campaign is an excellent way to keep these communities strong.”

United Way invests contributions to support innovative programs in local communities to generate sustained impact in the areas of income, education and health.

The Johnson Controls headquarters location in Milwaukee led the way in contributions, with nearly 80 percent of Milwaukee-area employees pledging. Milwaukee employees contributed $5.1 million with the Foundation match and sponsorships, breaking all previous Southeastern Wisconsin records for a workplace-giving campaign. Johnson Controls raised the most for the second consecutive year among workplace-giving campaigns in Milwaukee.

Johnson Controls Automotive Experience headquarters in Michigan ran a similarly high-powered campaign, pulling in more than $1 million with the Johnson Controls Foundation match.

"Automotive Experience employees are always generous to the United Way," said Beda Bolzenius, Vice President and President of Automotive Experience. "They exceeded expectations this year, helping to raise record funds to support programs that strengthen families, break the cycle of poverty and educate citizens in our communities.”
