Icemax
"Without the extra heat load from hot water floods we better maintain the ice temperature throughout the day while ensuring a higher quality ice sheet than was possible before."   – Facilities Manager, Rogers, MN

Icemax

What is Icemax and how does it work?
Icemax is a bio product with origins in the snowmaking industry. By adding Icemax to your water, the water freezes at a higher than average temperature. This higher freezing temperature allows the rink operator to raise the temperature of the glycol or brine solution and lower the flood water temperature. This results in a reduced energy load on the chillers, pumps, water heaters and dehumidifiers, which then extends the life of the equipment.

How do I get started using Icemax?

Try Icemax for free today.

Icemax is simple to use. Just empty the contents of a single packet into the flood water tank of the resurfacer*, or mix the contents in a bottle to partially dilute it, and then add to the flood water tank. When used as part of a regular maintenance program, a rink operator can expect to:

Reduce the heat load on the ice – Raise the ice surface temperature by 2° - 4°F
Reduce hot water usage – Use cool or cold water to resurface rather than 120+° F water.
Reduce the heat load on the ice and the de-humidifiers
See a better quality ice
Extend the longevity of your equipment

Icemax is a naturally occurring protein, that is harvested in a lab, so there are no chemicals present to cause damage to any equipment or machinery, and it is safe for employees and participants to handle and use.

*No change in operation of resurfacing equipment and no effect on the machine.
