- HQ in Hong Kong - 180 meters aluminum, steel & glass structure, 47 stories and 4 basement levels
- Johnson Controls commissioned to design, construct and project manage redevelopment of main plaza lobby
Challenges:
- Creating designs to complement Sir Norman Foster’s original architectural design
- Aggressive timeline with minimal disruption to business
- Provide a more customer-focused environment
Solutions:
- As managing agent, Johnson Controls completed a full tender for the architectural and design services
- Installed special space-saving automated glass doors to reduce swing radius
- Sourced materials to create an “Asian Story” to brand the lobby
- Designed new air conditioning system to accommodate combined volumes of existing lift lobbies with new space
- Installed Metasys building management system to organize and manage information and equipment
