The Academy for Energy Education

Johnson Controls and the National Energy Foundation have developed the Academy of Energy Education. It's designed to educate and involve students in energy conservation at school and home.


In combination with a Johnson Controls performance contract, The Academy teaches individuals to modify their behavior which results in greater energy efficiency. The Academy is a proven way to deliver curriculum-enhancing programs that combine the study of science, energy and math with real world experience.

Academy of Energy Education Programs The Academy offers young students the opportunity to have fun while learning about energy in a wide variety of curriculum-enhancing packages.

Energy Fun (K-3)
Allows children to have fun while learning about energy.

Energy Fundamentals (4-6)
Teaches the important fundamental energy concepts.

Energy Action Patrol (5-7)
Helps students apply energy efficiency concepts at home and in school.

Energy Action Teams (6-9)
Applies energy concepts in preparing a school energy efficiency policy.

Energy Action Technology (9-12)
Focuses on energy technology and incorporates school-to-work and high school to college transition programs.

Career Exploration
High school students spend 40 hours at a local Johnson Controls office for classroom credit.

Higher Education Externship
College students earn undergraduate credit through 100 hours of career-related work experience at a Johnson Controls office.
