“Power User Tour” – OPTIMA’s Blogger Outreach Program
The OPTIMA team will be hosting 15 automotive bloggers and forum contributors at the SEMA Show in an effort to establish relationships with key online influencers.OPTIMA has been working with its ad agency to identify the right group of individuals for the program – those with a passion, a compelling voice and a willingness to build a relationship with the brand. The group of bloggers will represent each of OPTIMA’s target segments, from hot rodders to low riders.
During the SEMA Show, the bloggers will be able to cover everything happening on the show floor, attend events/activities throughout the week, and capture high-quality content to share with their respective audiences.
They will report back to OPTIMA each day with valuable insights and perspectives on their show experiences, along with the content they’ve collected. These digital assets – video, photo and editorial – can be utilized for future online marketing efforts.
OPTIMA will also hold two roundtable discussions with the bloggers over breakfast, which are intended to establish two-way dialogue between the brand and enthusiast groups. The OPTIMA team will get first-hand input on specific battery needs related to their segments, as well as attitudes and opinions related to OPTIMA positioning and creative.
The program is expected to increase viral brand messaging and positive word-of-mouth on high-profile automotive websites. More importantly, it will help set the stage for the brand to establish a credible long-term presence in the social media space.
The 2nd Annual OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational
The SEMA Show is indeed home to the world’s most innovative aftermarket products and hottest custom vehicles. Yet until last year, these unique cars and trucks had no venue to demonstrate their speed and performance. Sure, they all looked great, but which ones ruled the road for real? When the OPTIMA team wanted to find out, the answer came in the form of an unprecedented event that finally put the world’s finest vehicles to the test.
Now in its second year, the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational will once again challenge top builders, manufacturers and car owners in a competition of vehicle quality, performance and speed. On Saturday, November 7, this invitation-only event at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada, will showcase up to 40 of the finest street machines in the world to determine the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car of the Year.
“These vehicle finalists are leaders in the aftermarket performance automotive industry and are carefully chosen to represent what specialty vehicles and aftermarket products are capable of,” says Cam Douglass, director of product development and marketing for OPTIMA Batteries. “The spirit of the competition is to exhibit the true potential of the vehicles showcased at SEMA, proving they are built for speed and performance, not just for looking good on the show floor.”
These street car owners and builders will test their mettle on a closed circuit professional road-racing course that combines driving, handling and acceleration/braking. Each of the competition’s events – styling, autocross, 0-60-0 and road course laps – will be timed or judged, with points awarded based on a classification system. Awards will be presented to the top three competitors in each event and the OPTIMA Batteries Ultimate Street Car title will be given to the vehicle accumulating the most points over the combined events.
Returning to defend the 2008 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car title will be Steven Rupp, owner of “Bad Penny,” a ‘68 Camaro decked out in full pro-touring trim. “Bad Penny” features some of the automotive industry’s most technological and innovative parts, combined with timeless styling. Steve’s tricked out Camaro outperformed the entire field in 2008 and will present an exciting challenge for all of the 2009 participants.
