Career
Allen Martin joined Johnson Controls in 1984 and has been in his current role since October 2009. He is responsible for the company’s Power Solutions lead acid battery business in the United States, Canada, Latin America and South America. He leads a team of more than 7,500 employees in the Americas.
Prior to this role, Allen was Vice President and General Manager, North America Commercial and Residential Systems, Latin America and Middle East for the company’s Building Efficiency business. In this role, he developed and delivered business strategies for controls systems, equipment, unitary products and global fire and security. He was responsible for $5.6 billion in revenue and more than 10,000 employees. Allen also spent time in Europe as Vice President and Managing Director of Europe and Africa for Systems and Services. Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, the region covers 31 countries with 24 spoken languages. He successfully integrated the YORK International acquisition and designed a change program to execute the strategies, resulting in an EBIT improvement of $105 million over 2 years.
Community Service
Mr. Martin currently serves as a Director for the Kellogg Alumni Club of Wisconsin. He is active in the United Way and The United Performing Arts Fund in Milwaukee, and is a Board Member of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee
Education
Mr. Martin has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, and earned his EMBA from Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.
