OPTIMA® batteries are Johnson Controls’ premium brand of auto, marine and commercial batteries in North America with worldwide distribution and significant presence in the Americas, Europe and Asia. OPTIMA batteries are designed to deliver ultimate power in a variety of high-demand applications. The unique six-pack design and Spiralcell® AGM Technology differentiate OPTIMA batteries from any other battery in the world.
Spiralcell Technology
The unique Spiralcell design of OPTIMA batteries provides a strong, clean power source that far surpasses any of today’s lead-acid battery technologies. Manufactured with a patented automated assembly process, Spiralcell Technology offers a cell with high-compression absorptive glass mat (AGM) material, which leads to superior vibration resistance and extended life capabilities. High-purity materials, including 99.99% pure lead, also contribute to a battery life up to twice that of traditional flooded batteries. In addition, the low-sulfate chemistry and low-acid reaction provides higher cycling capacity for a longer period of time.
OPTIMA Solutions
OPTIMA offers three battery types to suit a variety of power needs, including automotive, marine, commercial vehicles and recreational vehicles (RV). The different batteries are easily identified by their colored tops:
OPTIMA YellowTop® is ideal for any application that demands heavy cycling and cranking power, including trucks with winches, cars with high-demand audio systems, commercial trucks and heavy duty construction and agricultural equipment.
OPTIMA BlueTop® is ideal for marine and RV applications, including boats with electric trolling motors, onboard electronics or stereo systems and RVs with appliances that tend to drain batteries quickly.
OPTIMA RedTop® offers optimum automotive starting power and is commonly used in trucks, SUVs, luxury cars, hot rods and off-road vehicles.
