Conservation Leadership Corps

growing the next generation

The Conservation Leadership Corps (CLC) is a signature Johnson Controls’ global philanthropy program that focuses the company’s values of environmental stewardship, leadership development and diversity to develop local youth and make a positive impact on local communities where we do business.

The CLC engages students in summer employment and volunteer projects that provide hands-on work experience and training to build their leadership skills, develop a strong work ethic and gain a personal sense of stewardship for the environment.

The program began in 2006 with a total of 40 student participants in Johnson Controls’ corporate headquarters city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since then, the program has grown to Baltimore, Maryland, and Detroit, Michigan, and to global locations including China, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Thousands of youth are involved in worldwide CLC projects, ranging from environmental education to conservation work in parks. The program continues to grow every year with more youth participants. The goal of the program is to create the next generation of environmental stewards.
