Responsible and effective government relations are a priority for us. Because we have frequent contact with regulators, legislators and other government officials at the state and federal levels, we are focused on strengthening public policy in support of the business needs of the company, and for other stakeholders including employees, stockholders and the communities where we operate
Our interests are reflected in a broad array of policy issues, including energy efficiency, sustainability, environmental regulations, automotive safety and efficiency standards, and building standards and codes.

U.S. Government Relations Organization
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Government Relations team works with Congress, the White House and federal regulators on matters of national public policy. They are focused on advancing business goals for Johnson Controls, on the interests of the company’s employees and stockholders, and on issues important to customers and other stakeholders, including energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Johnson Controls is committed to supporting and participating in the political process on behalf of our businesses, employees, investors and other stakeholders. We believe it’s important that they understand our business issues and the rationale behind our government relations activities.
The company established a non-partisan political action committee (PAC) in 1999. Participation in the PAC is voluntary.
