Ben Levesque first started at Johnson Controls in 2006 as a field technician working on rooftop units. With 12 years of experience under his belt before joining the company, he quickly moved up the ranks, first with a promotion to the foreman for the National Accounts team and then to field foreman for the Fort Worth service team, before landing a position as a service manager. After over a decade building his skills and experience, and a short break from Johnson Controls before rejoining the company, Ben is currently working as the Branch Service Manager in Fort Worth-Dallas, Texas.
“When you move away from home, you’re in a different place but you still kind of miss home - that’s what brought me back,” said Ben on his time away from the company, and his ultimate decision to return to Johnson Controls.
As a Branch Service Manager, Ben sees himself as responsible for knocking down barriers for his team to succeed. Whether that’s through solving parts and manufacturing issues, managing vendor relations or coordinating internal and external communications, Ben strives every day to create an environment where his team can thrive. At Johnson Controls, field technicians’ structured schedules allow them to lead from the field and to be autonomous in their work with access to the necessary connections and resources to provide innovative solutions and unmatched service to customers.
"Johnson Controls is at the forefront, and always has been, as far as safety goes. They’re willing to change and make investments in individuals’ safety."

For instance, all the information the technicians need each day is right on their smartphone, from schedules to paperwork to customer meetings. Technicians complete assigned duties and communicate with dispatch if anything changes. Additionally, technicians can communicate directly with manufacturers to order and install parts, a capability that is not standard at other companies. This allows technicians to fully manage their projects and to provide the best service, creating strong customer loyalty.
Not only are technicians empowered to take charge of their own careers, but Johnson Controls makes a point to invest in the individual safety of its employees.
“Johnson Controls is at the forefront, and always has been, as far as safety goes. They’re willing to change and make investments in individuals’ safety,” said Ben. This gives technicians the confidence to go out in the field every day and perform at the highest level.
Technicians get the opportunity to work one-on-one with customers and deepen their local connections. As a result, there’s a strong sense of pride from solving customer problems with cutting-edge technologies and seeing the positive outcomes come to life in their own communities.
If you’re looking to start a career as a Johnson Controls technician, Ben’s advice is to “be open-minded; be a little bit patient; be willing to listen and ask questions.”
