Johnson Controls Foundation Funding Guidelines
The Johnson Controls Foundation operates in the United States and supports stronger and more sustainable communities through its philanthropic giving. The Foundation is a separate entity from Johnson Controls and has its own board of directors.
Is my organization eligible for a Johnson Controls Foundation Grant?
The Foundation accepts grant requests from U.S.-based charitable organizations whose mission and programming align with the Foundation’s giving priorities. Nonprofit organizations are encouraged to take a self-assessment to determine the likelihood of being considered for a grant.
Before applying for a Foundation grant, an organization should meet the below criteria.
- The nonprofit organization is requesting funding for programming that serves Milwaukee, WI; central Pennsylvania; San Antonio, TX; or another U.S. city with a strong Johnson Controls presence; or has a regional or national reach.
- The programming for which support is requested aligns with one or more areas currently supported by the Foundation.
- Our primary funding focus is Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education.
- We also support a limited number of sustainability and health related programs.
- The nonprofit organization is well-established, with a board of directors representing leaders in a variety of disciplines.
- The nonprofit organization is not a K-12 school, place of worship or sports organization.
- A philanthropy team member has given guidance to the organization that a grant request would be welcomed.
Organizations meeting the above criteria can access the grant application via the link below. Please email the philanthropy team with questions.
