Managing utility data across a large mixed-use campus

The financial center needed to manage energy and water consumption across a 12-building campus located in a dense urban environment. Utility data collection relied on spreadsheets and site visits, creating a time-consuming process that increased the risk of manual errors. At the same time, ambitious net zero goals required greater visibility into consumption patterns and more actionable insights to support sustainability initiatives.

Connecting building and utility data for better decision-making

The organization used Metasys to centralize monitoring and control of building systems across the campus. OpenBlue Net Zero Plus was then added to create a connected platform that integrated utility data and supported sustainability reporting. The solution enabled real-time meter integration, solar energy tracking, AI-driven insights and automated reporting capabilities. By eliminating manual data collection, the facilities team gained faster access to the information needed to support operational and sustainability decisions.

Accelerating reporting while improving energy performance

The integrated solution provided clear visibility into consumption patterns, helping the finance center identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Integration with an in-house application reduced manual effort and reporting errors while accelerating ESG and tenant consumption reporting. The campus also demonstrated improved year over-year energy performance, with buildings operating within energy efficiency limits and positioned to support future growth.
