Global data center strengthens security while expanding processing capacity
Supporting the growth of a critical global data center
Impact Highlights
Enhanced security for a critical global data center
Protection against potential security threats
Expanded processing capacity to support future growth
Expanding processing power while maintaining security and operational continuity
The construction of new infrastructure also introduced operational risks. Any loss of processing capacity during the project could have resulted in substantial financial impacts, making reliable implementation and uninterrupted operations a top priority.
Integrated access control, video surveillance and perimeter protection
Having successfully used the Software House C•CURE access control from Johnson Control for 15 years, data center leaders selected Johnson Controls to help secure the expanded facility.
Johnson Controls quickly implemented an integrated security solution that included:
- Software House C•CURE access control
- Video surveillance
- Perimeter protection
To support timely delivery, Johnson Controls assigned a dedicated project manager and three engineers on-site from the beginning of the project. This approach provided close oversight of implementation activities and helped ensure installations exceeded deadline expectations.
In addition to physical security capabilities, cybersecurity measures were incorporated throughout the security solution to help protect the facility from evolving threats.
A secure, reliable and future-ready data center
The data center successfully expanded its processing capabilities while maintaining the high levels of security and reliability required for mission-critical operations.
Key outcomes included:
- Greater data processing capacity
- Enhanced physical security across the facility
- Protection against potential security threats
- Installations completed ahead of deadline expectations
As the industry continues to adopt remote Security Operations Centers (SOCs), facility and security managers can remotely monitor operations 24/7 while leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to strengthen security measures.
