Supporting secure and uninterrupted data center operations

As part of its expansion across Latin America, ODATA built BG01, its first data center outside Brazil and the largest data center in Colombia. Designed to meet stringent security, reliability and operational requirements, the facility required an integrated approach to managing physical security and critical building systems while supporting continuous operations and future growth.

Centralized monitoring of building systems

Provided a scalable platform to support future data center growth

Securing and managing a mission-critical facility

As the largest data center in Colombia, BG01 needed to maintain strict control over employee, contractor and visitor access while protecting critical customer infrastructure and information. ODATA also required centralized oversight of building operations, including HVAC, elevators and other essential systems, while ensuring interoperability between security, safety and building management technologies. All systems had to support the facility's rigorous operational and cyber security requirements.

Integrating security and building management systems

ODATA implemented an integrated platform that connected access control, video surveillance and building management technologies across the BG01 campus. The deployment included the C•CURE 9000 access control and event management system, enabling centralized management of access permissions, visitor activities and security events. Designed to support the facility's stringent cybersecurity requirements, the platform incorporated encrypted communications and cybersecurity compliance measures.

To enhance situational awareness, more than 99 surveillance cameras were installed throughout key areas of the facility and connected through the exacqVision video management platform for real-time visibility, incident monitoring and video retention.

The building management platform integrated security, fire detection and suppression, air conditioning, UPS systems and generators into a unified operational environment. This centralized approach enables ODATA to monitor and manage critical facility systems while tracking energy consumption and key operational performance indicators across the site.

Creating a secure and scalable foundation for future growth

By integrating security and building management systems, ODATA gained centralized visibility across critical facility operations while strengthening protection of personnel, infrastructure and customer data. The scalable platform supports ongoing operational requirements and provides a consistent framework for future expansion projects across Latin America. BG01 now serves as a model for ODATA's continued regional growth strategy.
