Improving School Safety Through a Simple, Cost-efficient Security Solution
The Jim Thorpe Area School District was facing issues with a cumbersome and outdated surveillance system. It wasn’t user-friendly and video was difficult to locate for the four facilities being monitored. Improving the security system was vital to school safety.
To meet their requirements, the district needed a scalable, cost-efficient security system that would work with existing infrastructure and run on Macintosh computers. An exacqVision demo server and software was installed, quickly impressing the district with its ease of use and enhanced monitoring.
This case study shows how the school district was able to fit the exacqVision system into their current setup and scale it on a building by building basis. The paper goes on to demonstrate how the new system enabled administrators to quickly respond to thefts, vandalism, and unruly students, as well as provide access to law enforcement when needed.
