The Pacific Airport Group (PAC) manages 12 airports near the Pacific Coast of Mexico, ensuring their operations meet international regulations while safeguarding travelers and employees. Some airports had previously installed standalone security solutions and others did not have as many security systems in place, so PAC decided they needed to upgrade and standardize the surveillance systems across the airports as well as access control systems.

This case study describes the American Dynamics products used in the design of PAC’s new security and access control systems. A key part of the solution was integrating new cameras with ones that had previously been installed. Recorded video was managed using Intellex IP and VideoEdge video recorders. The access control component was built around the C•CURE 9000 event management software. Combined with smart card readers, the system enabled the airports to use the same access control credentials for its perimeter access control and guard tour solutions.
