Johnson Controls recognized as a Supplier Engagement Leader in Sustainability from CDP

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency and decarbonization, was recently named to CDP’s 2025 Supplier Engagement Assessment A-List, which recognizes leadership in supplier engagement on climate issues. The CDP award recognizes organizations who do outstanding work in collaborating with suppliers to prioritize sustainability. The Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluates companies’ risk management processes, governance and business strategy, supplier engagement, Scope 3 emissions and targets.

Johnson Controls’ inclusion on the A-List builds on the company’s strong sustainability performance, as detailed in its 2026 Sustainability Report:

  • 46% reduction of Scope 1 & 2 emissions since 2017, ahead of schedule toward a 55% goal by 2030.
  • 33% reduction in Scope 3 emissions, ahead of 16% target for 2030.
  • 77% of new product research and development is dedicated to sustainability and climate solutions.
  • 58% of revenue is from the sale, installation or maintenance of sustainable products and solutions.
  • 91% of global electricity is met or matched with renewable energy, moving toward 100% by 2030.
  • Helping customers save more than $9.5 billion in energy and operating costs and avoid emissions equivalent to nearly 6 million U.S. homes, freeing up capital to invest in strategic growth.
