Johnson Controls helps Resorts World Las Vegas unlock $110,000 in annual energy cost savings

• 88-acre integrated resort complex achieves 10.2% reduction in annual water plant energy use through autonomous control enabled by OpenBlue AI

MILWAUKEE, July 27, 2026 – Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, today announced Resorts World Las Vegas achieved $110,000 in annual energy cost savings and 10.2% reduction in chilled water plant energy usage through OpenBlue AI-enabled autonomous control – without replacing existing equipment.

As one of the largest hospitality complexes on the Las Vegas Strip, Resorts World Las Vegas features more than 3,500 rooms and suites across three distinct hotel experiences. The 66-floor complex is supported by a central utility plant that includes multiple water-cooled centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, water pumps and heat exchangers. By optimizing the performance of this existing infrastructure, the resort secured an additional $88,000 cash incentive from the electric utility provider.

To achieve these results, Resorts World Las Vegas implemented the Johnson Controls Metasys building automation system and OpenBlue AI-powered solutions, reducing annual chilled water plant energy consumption by 10.2%. Autonomous control enabled by AI continuously optimizes chiller staging, pump speeds and cooling tower operation in real time. OpenBlue Central Utility Plant Optimization predicts chilled water demand and automatically determines the most efficient equipment combinations every 15 minutes, while Metasys provides centralized visibility and control across the facility, enabling operators to respond quickly to changing conditions, improving system performance while streamlining operations. Local Johnson Controls expert service teams also helped the resort operate more efficiently with optimized staffing.
