MILWAUKEE, Sept. 15, 2026 — Johnson Controls International plc (NYSE: JCI), a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, today announced that Eric Swanson has been appointed Vice President of Investor Relations, reporting to Marc Vandiepenbeeck, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Swanson brings more than two decades of investor relations, corporate finance, equity research and investment banking to the role.

“Johnson Controls is entering an important next chapter, with significant growth ahead and consistently delivering on our commitments is what will help us earn the confidence of investors and other stakeholders,” said Marc Vandiepenbeeck, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Johnson Controls. “Eric's deep investor relations and capital markets experience, combined with his track record of building trust with the financial community, make him the right leader to help us tell that story. His work will be instrumental in communicating how our strategy, differentiated capabilities and proprietary Johnson Controls Business System come together to drive stronger execution and deliver on our growth algorithm.”

“I also want to recognize Mike Gates, who assumed additional responsibilities during the interim period and was critical to the success of our investor event earlier this year. He remains a valued member of our investor relations team,” Vandiepenbeeck added.

Swanson most recently served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Sherwin-Williams, where he led investor relations strategy and engagement with institutional investors and analysts and partnered with senior leadership to communicate the company's investment thesis and growth strategy.

“I am honored to join Johnson Controls and excited by the opportunity ahead,” said Swanson. “Earning the trust and confidence of investors starts with a clear, consistent story grounded in results. I look forward to deepening my understanding of Johnson Controls’ strategy, technology leadership, and proprietary business system, and to helping investors see how that strategy is translating into strong execution and long-term value for shareholders and customers.”

Prior to his role at Sherwin-Williams, he held investor relations and finance leadership roles at Avient Corporation and worked in equity research and investment banking at KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. Swanson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Business Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
