Smart Connected Street Lighting for Illinois Municipalities

In January 2017, the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, in consultation with Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology, issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Smart Street Lighting to facilitate municipal upgrades of street lights to smart, LED-based lighting. In addition to the street light fixtures (luminaires), the RFP included turnkey services, funding, adaptive controls and value add services. The intent of the RFP was to provide a state-wide procurement that every municipality could leverage in order to begin taking advantage of the technologies immediately.

Johnson Controls is proud to have been selected as the primary vendor through this RFP to support our local Illinois communities.

Street lighting brings great opportunities to municipalities to provide greater customer service, increased operational efficiency, maximize resources and spur economic development. Johnson Controls has decades of experience engineering, installing and guaranteeing efficiency projects, and related gains, for Illinois municipalities. We want to help you become the next connected city and support your Smart Street Lighting goals.
