Johnson Controls, the global leader for smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, has been recognized by Disibility:IN with two inclusion accolades. Johnson Controls has received the 2025 Global ERG/BRG Impact Award for the significant impact its Business Resource Groups (BRGs) have had on driving employee engagement and inclusion. The company was also recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” on the 2025 Disability Index ®, highlighting its commitment to advancing disability inclusion and building a workplace where all employees can contribute and drive long-term success. These honors reflect the company’s dedication to fostering a culture that values uniqueness, celebrates creativity, and drives innovation.
Disability:IN is the leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide. It partners with top companies to drive progress through initiatives, tools, and expertise that create long-term business impact. The 2025 Disability:IN Inclusion Award winners represent visionary brands and individuals from within the organization’s partner network who are advancing disability inclusion.
"We are proud to recognize this year’s Inclusion Award winners,” said Jill Houghton, President & CEO of Disability:IN. “Their efforts demonstrate how disability-inclusive business practices drive innovation, accelerate growth, and create workplaces where everyone can thrive.”
Johnson Controls supports inclusion in many ways including its BRGs, which are a voluntary consortium of employees who share common interests and experiences. They aim to enhance company culture and overall employee value proposition, promote community involvement, and drive tangible business objectives. Among the company’s 11 global BRGs is UNlimited, a community for employees living with disabilities, caregivers, and their allies.
The Disability Index is the world’s leading third-party benchmarking tool for evaluating corporate disability inclusion and is used by hundreds of companies globally. The Index measures performance across six key areas, including Culture & Leadership, Enterprise-Wide Access, Employment Practices, Community Engagement, Supplier Inclusion, and Responsible Procurement. Companies earning a top score are recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.”
