All companies experience growing pains, and a common problem for a successful business is when it outgrows its space. A ridesharing company that had previously worked with Johnson Controls needed a security provider to protect its new headquarters. The company selected Johnson Controls as its security integrator, as Johnson Controls has the experience and technology to meet high expectations and deliver comprehensive security throughout the company’s entire campus.

Top-tier building security is a number one priority for businesses, especially those with fierce competition and valuable data. As business leaders work to fortify their corporate security measures, the mindset is no longer to just check a box – security has evolved beyond just another business expense into a holistic source of added value that not only protects occupants and resources but also incorporates public health, life safety and sustainability. That was the case for this customer as well.

To successfully implement the security measures and technologies necessary to ensure the safety of the entire campus, the organization needed to be sure it has trusting relationship with the selected security integrator.

Strategic Planning for Scalability and Success
To successfully implement the security measures and technologies necessary to ensure the safety of the entire campus, the organization needed to be sure it had a trusting relationship with the selected security integrator. Once selected as the security integrator for the campus-wide project, Johnson Controls deployed two separate teams to guarantee that the company would feel confident in the decision to work with them. First, the local Johnson Controls Connected Technologies team worked closely with the organization’s internal development team, while the Johnson Controls National Accounts team developed a strong relationship with the company’s Global Security Team to develop a full-scale security plan for the headquarters.

To help the organization identify any and all security technology and infrastructure weaknesses, Johnson Controls conducted a comprehensive audit of the campus’s existing security system. The audit was a preventative first step to help the customer identify potential incidents before they happen, and it was a key contributor to the successful implementation of Johnson Controls security upgrade.

The sheer size of the headquarters required the support of a vendor that had experience working with expansive projects, and the implementation had to be scalable to allow for continued growth. As such, the technology that Johnson Controls provided in this build was extensive. Specifically, Johnson Controls worked with the organization and its other partners to design security command centers for the building and install video intercoms, security turnstiles and critical alarms throughout the campus.

Long-term Impact for Future-Thinking Resilience
The technology provided by Johnson Controls will have a lasting impact on the organization by allowing for business continuity while ensuring employee safety. This campus was designed to have room to grow to ensure long-term success. The company now has the opportunity to add security vehicles, video storage and headend solutions, as well as other analytic integrations, in the future. The headquarters will be more secure and more connected, allowing the company greater room to grow and succeed.
