From Johnson Controls Intern to Control Systems Engineer
Jack Grassi's commitment to continual learning gives him the tools to deliver exemplary customer service every day.

Meet the Team: Jack Grassi
From a Johnson Controls intern to a control systems engineer, Jack Grassi has seen firsthand how an ongoing commitment to career growth and development can be leveraged into exemplary customer service. As part of the Building Solutions, North America (BSNA) organization based in Louisiana, he is a member of a project team working in the field that designs, builds and manages facilities to power his customer’s missions for success. Working closely with communities in the New Orleans area, the team leverages next generation building automation and controls systems to transform customers’ buildings to deliver greater efficiency, sustainability and connectivity.
After finishing high school in 2013, Jack had the opportunity to work as an intern contractor at the Johnson Controls office in Philadelphia. It was an internship that never quite ended, and after eight years he strives to learn on the job every day, working with a supportive team and engaging customers. As a testament to Johnson Controls commitment to its employees’ career development, Jack continues to study part-time to complete his degree in business administration and management.
Jack’s ability to develop strong relationships that stand the test of time and commitment to learning on the job makes him an invaluable asset to both his team and his customers.
Most recently, Jack joined a major projects team that is leading the $300M building transformation of a leading southern children’s hospital which treats more than 75,000 patients per year in its outpatient center. The project includes the addition of 235,000 square feet, including a new cardiac intensive care unit, cancer treatment center, operating rooms and emergency rooms. The team has developed a master facility plan for the campus to address the urgent and long-term needs of patients while also focusing on the delivery of a smart building that Johnson Controls team will serve on an ongoing basis to ensure long-term resiliency.
Building designers often face many challenges in the planning phase, given the volume of systems available in the market. By helping his customer identify the right intelligent building automation and controls systems that align with their goals, Jack and his team can offer the hospital a heightened degree of efficiency, reliability and performance that ultimately translates into quality patient care. Jack’s ability to develop strong relationships that stand the test of time and commitment to learning on the job makes him an invaluable asset to both his team and his customers.
