A full range of products for holistic fire protection
Actively sample air to detect smoke at low concentrations for early intervention. Fast-acting, fully integrated fire detection systems, control panels and alarm systems help mitigate risk, enhance safety and manage costs.
Avoid water damage or residue with inert and halocarbon agents.
Minimize accidental discharges and provide broad coverage with pre-action sprinklers and advanced water mist systems.
Control systems through centralized and remote monitoring, and integrate with other building systems.
Solutions to balance key fire protection objectives
Aspirating smoke detectors
Ideal for high-airflow environments where smoke will rapidly disperse, these ultra-early detectors can be programmed for different sensitivities and integrate with fire systems.
Fire alarm control units
Designed to meet life-safety and compliance needs – from intelligent addressability and networking capabilities to remote management and touchscreen convenience.
Notification appliances
Provide flexibility, performance and reliability. Revolutionary self-test capability simplifies inspection and maintenance.
Detection
Choose from a complete line of detection devices and sensors to design a system that addresses the unique characteristics of every facility.
Dedicated networks and remote monitoring
Life-safety systems operate on a fault-tolerant, peer-to-peer IP network that prioritizes and isolates fire alarm data. Secure cloud-based monitoring enables IT and safety teams to track system status remotely and respond more quickly.
Preaction fire sprinkler systems
Ideal for data halls, preaction systems are designed to prevent accidental water discharge. An integrated electronic accelerator reads pressure twice per second for fewer false trips and faster system operation in a fire event. Nitrogen generators prevent corrosion to support pipe integrity.
Low-pressure water mist systems
Use fine droplets to suppress fires while significantly reducing the required water flow rate. It’s tested and approved for use in data centers, including validation from full-scale fire tests. This includes areas above and below raised floors, hot aisles and concealed spaces.
Clean agent extinguishing systems
Use inert or halocarbon gases to extinguish fires by reducing oxygen levels below the combustion threshold. It’s non-conductive, safe for occupied spaces and leaves no residue. This makes it ideal for protecting high-value electronics and data storage environments
Portable fire extinguishers
Include clean agent models to meet code requirements and provide a first-response capability
Broad fire sprinkler portfolio
Helps protect administrative offices, break rooms and other non-critical spaces.
Data center fire protection insights
Fire remains one of the most persistent threats to data center continuity—and as these facilities grow in complexity, so must the strategies that protect them. Johnson Controls brings decades of experience, from legacy server rooms to today’s high-density, high-resilience environments. These insights explore how modern fire protection can meet the demands of uptime, speed and scale.
