Discover how Johnson Controls is driving business success through climate action, as featured in the World Economic Forum CEO Climate Leaders report. The latest World Economic Forum CEO Climate Leaders report sends a clear message: climate action isn’t just good for the planet, it’s good for business. According to the report, the green economy has grown to $5 trillion annually and is projected to reach $7 trillion by 2030. Companies leading the way are seeing green revenues grow twice as fast as traditional business lines, with real financial benefits like lower borrowing costs and higher valuations.

At Johnson Controls our strategy is simple: help customers cut energy use, save money, and build resilience. Whether it’s a hospital that needs to cut energy use and free up resources for better patient care, cooling AI-powered data centers that use less energy and water, or making sure high-stakes manufacturing environments run smoothly – Johnson Controls has the solutions.

Johnson Controls success story: Energy savings and emissions reductions

The World Economic Forum report highlights the impact of our Johnson Controls solutions. A Spanish food company partnered with Johnson Controls to install high-efficiency heat pumps and achieved approximately €1.5 million in annual energy savings and reduced CO₂ emissions by about 2,000 tonnes. In another case, a Danish hospital cut its emissions by 80–90% and reduced energy costs by 80%, all by leveraging Johnson Controls’ advanced technologies.

These are more than just numbers. They represent real progress for our customers, helping them unlock savings, meet sustainability goals, and build resilience for the future.

“It’s not ‘environment vs. economy’ – it’s the same playbook. Sustainability and competitiveness are intertwined. For too long, the myth persisted that climate action was a feel-good add-on or a drag on the balance sheet. The truth? When you lean into decarbonization, you’re solving for business fundamentals – cutting operating costs, preserving capital and hardening resilience,” said Katie McGinty, Vice President and Chief Sustainability & External Relations Officer at Johnson Controls.
