We’re committed to finding the best talent, maximizing each employee’s unique abilities and helping all employees chart their own one-of-a-kind career paths. The Johnson Controls Operating System promotes a performance culture by training leaders and measuring their effectiveness in engaging employees.
Training and development are key to the success of the Johnson Controls Operating System, which calls for empowering employees through skill development, resources and the authority to improve their workplace. Individual growth opportunities include our global electronic Learning Management System as well as online and on-site safety, quality, continuous improvement, integrity and certification programs.
We use our Global Employee Survey to get feedback, drive dialogue and create action plans that produce measurable improvement, inspiring employees to engage.
The Chairman’s Award, our highest employee honor, is given each year to teams and individuals who demonstrate excellence in achieving our strategic objectives and outstanding service to customers, colleagues and communities. Winners receive $10,000 for the nonprofit of their choice. In 2015, the program’s 30th year, 15 teams representing 18 countries were named winners. We received 1,676 nominations globally – a company record, and a 13 percent increase from last year.
This year’s winners helped Johnson Controls meet objectives such as capturing new business, developing products to support client initiatives, gathering market insight, optimizing operating systems, reshaping our businesses and partnerships, and furthering corporate citizenship. Said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alex Molinaroli, “These are truly remarkable employees. I’m proud of our Chairman’s Award winners – for what they have done for our communities and for our company.”
