Reducing the Number of Drive-offs
BP’s Slagboom gas station in Amsterdam is a typical gas station and convenience store, a place where customers can fill up their gas tanks and get a snack or drink at the same time. But the station was experiencing problems with people driving off without paying for their gas, or giving station attendants the wrong pump number in order to pay a lower price. A video surveillance system was the best solution.
This case study looks at how the station was able to use exacqVision video management software to integrate four new IP cameras into their existing infrastructure of 14 analog cameras. A monitor at the cash register allows attendants to easily identify people and license plates to verify that a customer was paying for the correct pump. In the case of a drive-off, video can be easily searched and exported within minutes to positively identify a suspect. And the new system is easy-to-use, requiring very little training.
