Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD) in Ventura, California, provides programs for occupational and career training, associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, and career certifications. The VCCCD enroll over 30,000 students and has 1,680 employees on three campuses.

With safety as a number one priority, the district has a police station at each campus. But their video surveillance system still relied on an antiquated camera recorder that had limited viewing and searching capabilities. The District’s Safety and Information Technology departments decided it was time to look for new ways to improve their security systems.

This case study shows how an exacqVision surveillance solution provided VCCCD with an enterprise-level system that allowed centralized, IP-based monitoring, provided flexibility for future growth, and fit into their budget. VCCCD uses the exacqVision video management software on a daily basis to monitor staff and student safety, investigate campus crimes, and control traffic and parking. And since installing the system, VCCCD has quickly and successfully stopped attempted thefts and identified suspects involved in campus incidents.
