Johnson Controls recently hosted its 27th Annual Security Technology Expo in Philadelphia, bringing together more than 50 of the security industry’s leading manufacturers. The event showcased the innovations shaping the future of safer communities, smarter buildings and more connected campuses. Attendees had the opportunity to see live product demonstrations and explore solutions in areas such as active shooter detection and prevention, access control, educational security and video surveillance—all of which integrate seamlessly into Johnson Controls’ OpenBlue digital platform.

To kick off the annual gathering, Maureen S. Rush, M.S., CPP, president of the Philadelphia Police Foundation, delivered a keynote presentation on “The State of Public Safety in Philadelphia.” Rush emphasized how integrated security technology can strengthen community protection when implemented with the support of public safety leaders like Mayor Cherelle Parker and Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel.

The event also served as a meaningful fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the Philadelphia Police Foundation. This organization plays a critical role in providing resources and support to the Philadelphia Police Department, helping to enhance public safety for the city’s residents, businesses and visitors.

"We as security professionals, customers, support people, technicians, should never forget what our core mission is: it’s to protect the men, women, children, students, boys and girls of this great country."

"I've been coming here [the expo] for 10 years, and this is always one of the best places to bring customers, to bring in users, to see all of this technology," said Gordon Miller, Regional Sales Manager at Axis Communications.

The expo also offered a valuable opportunity for Johnson Controls executives and industry leaders to engage directly with attendees and discuss how integrated security technologies can be applied in real-world settings.

“We as security professionals, customers, support people, technicians, should never forget what our core mission is: it’s to protect the men, women, children, students, boys and girls of this great country,” said Michael Cox, Sr. Strategic Account Manager at Johnson Controls.
