How does it work?

Contractors who purchase qualifying Johnson Controls products will receive “JCI Bucks,” which appear as credits in the account upon submission of point-of-sale data by the ABCS on a monthly basis. Once approved, the contractor may redeem credits for future purchases, training courses, or marketing services. Training or certification requirements aren’t needed to earn JCI Bucks.

Qualifying products include:

  • Facility Explorer BAS
  • Metasys BAS
  • EasyIO controller platform
  • HVAC Field Devices
  • PENN refrigeration controls

Earning ASI accreditation provides exclusive benefits to help contractors grow their business, profitability and productivity. ASI certification is evaluated on an annual basis by the Johnson Controls Administrator. Once contractors earn an ASI certification, they must complete required training to remain compliant.

Program levels to match your involvement

The program includes five levels―each designed to meet contractors where they are today and support their growth over time. Progression through each level is based on purchasing thresholds and specific training requirements. As participants advance, they unlock enhanced benefits ranging from marketing resources and training credits to waived license fees, ensuring contractors are rewarded as their business grows.

  • When will the program start?
The program is currently live. As contractors are registered or enrolled, we will use the revenue numbers provided as starting points for the loyalty tiers. POS data will then be used to define the loyalty tier eligibility moving forward.
  • What if there is a two-person company selling Gold-level dollars? Will they stay at a Silver level if they don’t have a third licensed person?
Yes, they will stay at the Silver level. All eligibility requirements for a tier need to be met to obtain rewards at that tier.
  • How long are JCI Bucks valid for?
All claims must be submitted during the fiscal year or following 3 month grace period (final deadline 12/31).
  • Is there a format for the data to be uploaded?
Yes, the format is shown in the demo video within the recording. Also see the Sample File Template within the Contractor Loyalty Program portal, accessible through Solution Navigator.
  • What if the customer was AX-Certified and not N4-Certified?
    N4 certification is required.
  • What if training was done through Train the Trainer?
Train the Trainer evidence / certification will need to be provided by the contractor, and training will be approved if it meets Johnson Controls training requirements.
  • How do we handle contractors who have been implementing CCT for years but do not have a Johnson Controls CCT Training Certificate? Will Train the Trainer be sufficient?
To be eligible for ASI benefits, contractors need to provide evidence of up-to-date training from Johnson Controls or equivalent. If Train the Trainer certification meets Johnson Controls training requirements, it will be sufficient. Contractors will have to provide evidence of certification for Johnson Controls to review.
  • Is the #3028 training course a new requirement? Is there a Train the Trainer for this course? What is the grace period for contractors to be trained?
No, this course has been available since 2022. There is no Train the Trainer for this course and the grace period was extended to the end of 2024.
  • The ASI technician has taken the Johnson Controls #4714 course and is an N4-certified instructor. How does the training requirement work with their existing certifications?
The technician will still need to take #3028 and provide proof of N4 certification (#4720, #3720 or third-party).
  • Regarding the submission for each contractor to Johnson Controls, it appears we need to submit each particular sale item and the cost we sold it at? Is this correct?
Yes, each Johnson Controls item needs to be submitted at contractor sell-to price. An upload template is available on the tool for mass uploads.
  • If a contractor is purchasing through two distributors (e.g., one distributor sells $100K and the other distributor sells $500K), who credits if the contractor wants to use JCI Bucks with the first distributor?
The rebate must be processed through the selling distributor. E.g. the Sapphire (4%) contractor will have an JCI Bucks balance of $4k with one distributor and $20k with the other.
  • How should Canadian contractor purchase dollars in Canadian dollars be reported? Are Canadian contractors expected to hit U.S. dollar revenue targets?
The amount you report must be in U.S. dollars and all revenue targets will remain in U.S. dollars. In addition, any amounts you see displayed or issued through the system will also be in U.S. dollars.
  • How do I (ASI) receive a credit for the annual Niagara Support renewal?
Your ABCS Distributor will email ControlsRewards@jci.com a copy of the invoice containing LP-FXYBREN-0 and a credit will be processed.
  • How do I (ASI) gain access to direct technical support?
Your ABCS Distributor will send a request to ControlsRewards@jci.com with the name, email, and phone number of the ASI technical expert that should be authorized. 1 contact will be authorized per ASI.
