Johnson Controls was awarded the most innovative ITMS solution provider for smart cities at the Smart City Conclave Chandigarh event. The award was in recognition of our SCATS and Meridian-based adaptive traffic solutions in addressing traffic management issues.
Our expert, Prasun Talukdar, was also invited to speak at the event. Using case studies as illustration, he explained how our technologies and solutions help make smart cities more secure and sustainable, as well as improve productivity of smart city dwellers.

Johnson Controls Showcased Traffic Management Solutions at Traffic Infratech Expo
Johnson Controls participated in the Traffic Infratech Expo held in Mumbai, where we showcased our SCATS and Meridian solutions. Speaking to conference attendees, our subject matter expert, Santosh Muzumdar, shared insights on how our traffic management solutions could help smart cities overcome traffic challenges, such as easing overcrowded road networks and improving road safety.
In its eighth edition, the Traffic Infratech Expo brings together government authorities and industry leaders to address the issues of ensuring safe, urban mobility and the development of traffic infrastructure within the country.

Industrial safety has to be an integral part of the organizational culture, an insight shared by Shrikant Bapat, country general manager and managing director for Johnson Controls at the one-day Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Industrial Safety Conclave in Pune. Shrikant is also the vice chairman of the CII Pune Zonal Council.
Our other expert, Sachin Deshpande, participated in a panel discussion on the challenges and solutions pertaining to industrial safety and infrastructure. He also highlighted our portfolio of safety products.

Air travel in India is taking off, with some additional 500-600 million passengers expected by 2030. Plans are underway to build 55 new airports across the country to meet this growing demand.

Johnson Controls Discusses Integrated Design Approach for Smart Buildings
Johnson Controls shared insights on smart buildings, net-zero energy buildings and energy management initiatives during a panel discussion at the Jal-Vayu-Agni seminar. Subject matter expert, Ajit Garve, spoke on the importance of proactive management and predictive maintenance in fire safety, as well as the strategic role IoT sensors (through their data-gathering abilities) play in an integrated approach towards building management.
The seminar was jointly organized by the respective Bangalore chapter of the Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI), the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA), and the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE).

Johnson Controls Hosts Connect 2018 for South India Channel Partners
Johnson Controls India team hosted the Connect 2018 seminar for our South India channel partners in July. About 45 prominent senior leaders from organizations such as ICD, UTC, AVTEL attended the event.
The seminar provided updates on our technology, in particular, Smartvue, our newly acquired cloud video surveillance solution, as well as other access control and intrusion detection technology. The Q&A session saw a robust discussion on industry trends and challenges, and how Tyco Security solutions could address these issues efficiently. Overall, the event was well received by partners who came away with a deeper understanding on our product portfolio.

Johnson Controls Presents Fire Protection Portfolio for Hospitals at FSAI Vishakhapatnam Chapter
Johnson Controls participated in an event targeting the hospital sector which was held at the Vishakhapatnam Chapter of Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI). We presented our fire detection and alarm systems, and fire suppression products to some 75 building consultants, system integrators and hospital building managers. Our expert also shared insights on standards implementation and evacuation measures in emergency cases. The event further allowed Johnson Controls to explore new opportunities with organizations such as Vizag Health City and CMC Vellore.
Visakhapatnam, the largest city in Andhra Pradesh and part of India’s Smart City Mission, has initiated projects to enhance efficiency of its existing infrastructure.

Johnson Controls Discusses Green Buildings Development
Johnson Controls expert, Gurmeet Singh, spoke on the role of integrated building management systems at the Chandigarh chapter of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Green League. He highlighted the importance of measurements and verifications in the development of green buildings.
The core objective of the IGBC League is to disseminate knowledge on optimizing the built environment performance within the country. As the capital of the northern Indian states of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh is known internationally for its architecture and urban design. The city has been included in the nation-wide Smart Cities Mission list since 2016.

Johnson Controls showcased our integrated traffic management system at the one-day Pune Smart City conference.
One of the key concerns addressed at the conference was transportation and mobility. A panel comprising of industry experts, including Prasun Talukdar, our subject matter expert on key vertical projects, weighed in on issues such as inadequate public transportation capacity, overcrowded road networks, poor road conditions, and lack of pedestrian walkways.
Conference delegates, amongst them state municipal commissioners and mayors, learnt about Johnson Controls experience in smart cities projects and our comprehensive mobility solutions such as SCATS & Meridian.
Pune is the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra, after the state capital city of Mumbai. Other key focus in Pune’s smart city mission include energy, environment and sustainability, safety and security.

At the Infra-Tech Carnival 2018, a national exposition on energy efficient, renewable energy and smart building material and technologies, Johnson Controls participated with a booth to showcase our complete products for smart buildings and cities. This included integrated lighting, physical security, cooling, air quality management, building management, amongst others. In addition, Shrinivas Godi, Sales Manager- IBMS Fire & Security spoke to the local audience about our offerings for smart cities.
Overall, the event, allowed Johnson Controls to connect with regional architects and consultants on building smart cities.
